Exercise Selection for People with Spinal Conditions
This complete three-part course guides the learner through use of clinical assessments to select safe and healthy fitness-focused exercises from the following disciplines: yoga, Pilates, weight lifting and suspension training, In part 1 you will learn the fundamentals; theory behind adult spinal disorder, evaluation techniques and fitness plan development. Part 2 consists of video presentations of adults with scoliosis and hyper-kyphsosis demonstrating exercises modified for their spinal condition with precision cueing from Hagit and Lise. Learn several variations from each exercise discipline and develop confidence in effectively managing your client or patient's spinal condition. THE COURSE STRUCTURE
Our course is divided into three separate parts and is open to licensed health care professionals and certified fitness professionals.
Part 1 emphasizes fundamental information about scoliosis and adult spinal disorder including assessment. Part 2 focuses on specific exercises - how to teach and modify them effectively for this population. Exercises include Pilates, yoga, suspension training and weight lifting and are influenced and supported by the teachings of the Schroth Method. Part 3 is a presentation of other spinal pathologies including osteoporosis, advanced concepts in scoliosis, spinal stenosis and spondylolisthesis.
